Large Scale Facilities
MCF supports IIT reaserchers to access large scale facilities (X-rays, neutrons and free-electron lasers). Large scale infrastructures are characterized by a multidisciplinary approach and are equipped with state-of-the art instruments operated by experienced scientists, engineers and technicians.
These large scale facilities offer unique opportunities to explore materials and living matter in a variety of fields of application including: structure of matter, materials physics and advanced materials, biology, cultural heritage, pharmaceuticals, food safety, environmental sciences, hi-tech industry, energy and semiconductors.
Large scale facilities include synchrothrons, centers for neutron scattering, and X-ray free electron lasers. Here, you can find some general information about science that you can perform at the facilities, a list of the main European facilities and how to access beamtime.
